CLARKSBURG — David Lee Edwards, age 41, of Reynoldsville, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at United Hospital Center.He was born November 14, 1975, in Clarksburg, WV.David is survived by his parents, Donald Edwards and Judy (Ferrell) Edwards of Reynoldsville, WV; his wife, Angel (Bailey) Edwards; three stepchildren, Beth Swiger, Wayne Swiger and Regina Swiger, all of Clarksburg, WV; five grandchildren; three brothers, Donnie Edwards of Reynoldsville, WV, Joey Edwards of Richie County, WV and Jonathan Edwards of Reynoldsville, WV; a sister, Penny Drainer & her husband, Jeff of Reynoldsville, WV; a brother-in-law, Roger “Deno” Blankenship of Harrisville, WV; and his best friend, Cassandra Lilly of Clarksburg, WV.David was a construction worker.He will be missed by his family and friends.Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home at 11 a.m. onThursday, August 31, 2017.Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.Online condolences may be sent to DavisFuneralHomeWV.com. August 21, 2017 David Tate, beloved family member, minister of music and friend, passed away of cancer on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the age of 83. David was born in Roanoke, Va. to Jesse and Dorothy HawkinsTate, graduated from Troutville High School and left Roanoke to attend Wheaton College where he earned his BA in music. He served in the United States Army and returned home to live temporarily with his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Ella Tate. David was accepted into a graduate program in music at the New England Conservatory of Music where he earned two advanced degrees. David was a skilled and talented musician working in various churches and synagogues where he led the music programs. In 1972 he began a career as teacher and later as Assistant Director of the Westport School of Music in West Port, Connecticut. David returned to Roanoke following his retirement in 2003 and lovingly lead the choir and played organ for St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Catholic Church. He is survived by his long time friend, Frank Winn; cousins, Susan Hedge, Carol Tate, Martha Clark, Becky Tate and Ann Dail; his sister-in-law, Sandra Tate; nephews, Troy and Jonge Tate and many grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at St. Thomas of Canterbury.
